Kundalini Yoga + Meditation
I trained as a Kundalini yoga teacher with Path To Source (200+hours) in Glastonbury in 2020. I have been teaching yoga for 5 years and practicing kundalini yoga for over 10 years, with my teacher Sivaroshan Sahathevan.
My experience of kundalini yoga, which is a mixture of kriya (postures), mantra and meditation is that it is deeply transformational and healing, working on the physical and energetic body, helping to release deep rooted patterns and traumas in the body and mind, allowing us to come back to who we truly are. The benefits of the practice are numerous and include; a greater sense of vitality, clarity and peacefulness in everyday life.
I am also trained in holistic massage (BCMB level 4, 2021) and more recently, advanced clinical massage (JING level 4, 2026) which gives me an understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the body, helping her ground the yoga in science. As a year two shiatsu student i am interested in eastern approaches to the body-mind and often brings inspiration from Chinese five element theory into my classes.
A qualified level 1 MBCT therapist, (mindfulness based cognitive therapy) I have developed her 10 year long practice of the the techniques I learned using Mark William’s book “finding peace in a frantic world” to bring elements of mindfulness and loving kindness into my classes, which I believe have been foundational and complimentary to my kundalini practice and to my own self development

KUNDALINI YOGA + MEDITATION
Kundalini yoga is often described as the yoga of awareness. The awareness of the breath and of sensing what is happening in the body as we move in a kundalini class, gives it the quality of a moving meditation, which allows for thoughts and feelings to arise, be processed and released.
The class will lead you through a series of postures and movements to boost your energy and revitalise your entire system, using music and mantra to help to guide you, with an emphasis on the breath and on tuning into your own natural rhythm - taking each posture at your own pace.
We will end with Savasana (relaxation) and meditation, which will sometimes be in the form of mantra.
Feel free to bring your own yoga mat and blanket as well as a block or pillow sit on although equipment is provided in the studio
You do not need any previous experience of yoga to practice kundalini – all ages and abilities are welcome.
Please let me know at the beginning of the class if you are menstruating, have any injuries, illnesses or think you might be pregnant. I will give you modifications.
If possible try not to eat anything heavy up to 1 -2hours before the class. Light snacks are ok. Avoid alcohol before coming to class.
